Omani authorities have rescued four people, including a child, from separate drowning incidents reported in recent days, according to the Royal Oman Police.
The incidents took place in different parts of the Sultanate, with coast guard teams responding to both emergencies.
Three rescued after boat capsizes near Muscat
The first incident occurred near Qurum Beach in Muscat, where three people were practising rowing when their boat capsized.
Coast guard personnel responded to the emergency and successfully rescued all three individuals from the water.
Authorities did not report any fatalities in the incident.
Child rescued in Sohar
In a separate case, a coast guard patrol in North Al Batinah Governorate spotted a child struggling in the water near Silver Jubilee Park in Sohar.
Rescue teams immediately intervened and brought the child to safety. First aid was provided at the scene, and the child subsequently recovered.
The incidents come as Omani authorities continue to respond to water-related emergencies across the country, particularly during periods when residents and visitors spend more time near beaches and coastal areas.
Oman has recorded several serious drowning and boating incidents in recent years, including fatal accidents involving tourists and children.
The latest rescues highlight the importance of following water-safety measures and exercising caution around beaches, boats and other coastal areas.
